Here’s what I’m guessing is going on with the third picture…
Bolin somehow gets roped into being Desna and Eska’s errand boy and he agrees to do it solely because they’re Korra’s cousins and he wants to impress them (and possibly because he wants to she that he’s a grown-up, responsible man). Down the line, Eska starts falling for Bolin as a result, leading into the “bizarre love story” we were promised.
